JOIN THE BAND
You do not need to know how to play before you walk through the door.
If you have always wanted to learn the pipes or drums, this is a good place to start. We welcome beginners as well as experienced players who are looking for a band to call home. You do not need a musical background to get in touch.
Where do we start?
Beginners start with fundamentals before progressing toward the instrument, band music and eventually public performance.
Experienced pipers and drummers are welcome too. We will talk about your background, where you are musically and how you might fit into the ensemble.

Do I need musical experience?
No. Plenty of people start with us as complete beginners. If you already play, we will figure out where you are comfortable and how you fit into the band.
Can I learn bagpipes or drums with the band?
Yes. Instruction is a core part of the band’s philosophy. Available teaching and start timing can vary, so the first step is to submit an inquiry.
Can anyone join?
Yes! Anyone over the age of 18.
What matters most for a beginner?
Consistency beats talent at the beginning. A little practice most days, some patience, and a willingness to listen to the people around you goes a long way.
